Common Ground Cafe

By providing a comfortable gathering point in a friendly community café atmosphere, Common Ground Café is the place for the local community and visitors to share Chinese, Tibetan and Taiwanese cuisine in Dharamsala’s first authentic fusion café and restaurant. Click here to flip through our menu!

Not only do we dish up great food, but we also serve as an events venue, providing a platform for a community-based common ground for learning and exchange. Since our inception in June 2009, we have organized and hosted an array of events, including technical trainings and media workshops, screenings, talks and discussions, international group programs, arts and cultural nights, language and music courses and much more!

As a proactive member of the Dharamsala exile community, we provide facilities free of charge for Dharamsala based organizations to host community programs and events in Common Ground Café. We also help support local artisans and organizations by offering a range of locally made fair trade merchandise.

For the Common Ground staff and culinary team, we provide extensive vocational training and employment with full healthcare and dental coverage as well as paid vacation packages and need-based financial assistance for our employees in the Dharamsala exile community where unemployment runs high and health standards remain poor.

Please note that Common Ground Café is a nonprofit business venture which helps generates a sustainable source of income for Common Grounds Project. Here's what people are saying about us.
